Abstract
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, and uric acid are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in Indonesia, particularly among the elderly in rural areas. Lack of knowledge, limited access to health services, and poor early detection exacerbate the condition. This community service project targeted a Yasinan male group in RT 01 RW 02, Tlogo Village, Kanigoro, Blitar, involving 35 participants. Interventions included health education, free medical check-ups (blood pressure, blood glucose, uric acid, cholesterol), and complementary therapy through acupressure over three sessions. There was a 1–1.2 mg/dL decrease in uric acid levels among participants with high levels, a reduction in hypertension cases from 48.57% to 28.57%, and normalization of blood glucose levels in all participants. Participants also showed improved knowledge and awareness of NCDs. An integrated intervention combining education, routine health checks, and acupressure therapy effectively reduced NCD risks and promoted healthier lifestyles. This model shows potential for broader implementation as a community empowerment approach in managing NCDs.
