Abstract
Online gaming addiction is a problem that is currently emerging in the middle of the changing times and the increasingly modern technology, which is often found among teenagers. Online game addiction gamer apart from the self, the family also may be one cause, especially in fulfilling the function of affective family. The aim of research explaining the relationship between the family affective functions with online gaming addiction in the early teens.The study design was cross-sectional, the dependent variable in this study is online gaming addiction and affective functions independent variables namely family. Three research sites in internet cafes Satreyan village on May 18 to 21, 2015. The population of as many as 65 players with sampling technique sampling accidentaly got 39 samples.The research shows that addiction respondents were 26 (66.7%), whereas for effective family affective functions as much as 9 (23.1%). Chi Square test affective functioning family with online gaming addiction showed a significant level of p = 0.016 with α of 0.05. There is a relationship between affective function families with online gaming addiction.The result is expected to prevent the incidence of online game addiction in order not higher, in cooperation with the family.
