Cardiovascular disease including hypertension blood has become a deadly disease in the developed and developing countries over the last eight decades . The level of health awareness is still low , the number of patients who did not realize that he was suffering from hypertension and who do not obey to take medication are bigger. Risk factors for hypertension include: gender, age , family history , salt intake . This study aims to clarify the correlation of gender, age , family history and their salt intake with degree ofhypertension in patients with hypertension at Puskesmas Nglegok Blitar. The research design used in this research iscrosecsional .The samples used in this study as many as 34 people with purposive sampling technique . Results of this study were analyzed by the technique spearmen rho using SPSS 16.00 .Based on the result of data analysis showed that there is acorrelationof gender, age , of degree of salt intake with hypertension. It is suggested to patients with hypertension , in order to always control blood pressure , medication regularly , and live a healthy lifestyle , such as avoiding excessive salt intake patterns , and avoid stress to prevent further complications .
