Abstract
The elderly are generally more likely to have hypertension in the elderly because of behavior such as the consumption of fat, high-salt, smoking and exercise habits must be in control for maintain stable blood pressure. This study used cross sectional design research that is done once in a while. The research was conducted on August 19-26. The population in this study were 54 people with large samples in this study were 30 elderly people who suffer from hypertension. The data taken with purposive sampling technique. Based on statistical test showed Spearman rho (P) = 0.000 with a significant α = 5% = 0.05 to P 0.625> α means that there were no correlation between the behavior of the elderly with hypertension with R = 0.093. Although the behavior of the elderly in the study was not associated with the incidence of hypertension in the elderly taking into account the expected salt with a fatty diet, smoking and exercise habits.
